Our mission is to build the ultimate urban riding machine that turns the everyday commute into the most enjoyable part of the day. Our first model, the Streetdog, brings the craftsmanship and soul of classic motorcycles to an urban commuter that is practical, intuitive and emission free.
Like many legendary Kiwi initiatives, our journey started in a garage. Founders Luke and Kendall saw an opportunity with the electric revolution, to bring the freedom of motorcycles to the daily commute whilst reducing transport emissions. They built the first prototype of the Streetdog over lockdown in 2020. When they met Saskia later that year, they were ready to turn the garage project dream into a groundbreaking company. We now have an amazing team of 23 people ready to take FTN global.
In the last 18 months, we’ve gone from a single prototype to New Zealand's first automotive production run since the 90's. With the Streetdog, we’ve developed an outstanding urban motorcycle with a global supply chain built for scale.
We’re delivering bikes
Deliveries are underway for FTN’s first 100 Early Adopter customers. This follows the 7 Beta bikes delivered to Wellington customers and businesses.
Latest Streetdog Count as of 4 August: 80 out in the wild.
Pre-orders
Beyond the 100 Early adopters, FTN has 50 more bikes fully paid (due for Q3 delivery), making for over NZ$1m in total payments.
Waitlist
FTN has over 1,800 signups on the email list and has now opened reservations for customers to secure a slot in our 3rd production run with a $100 deposit.
Happy Customers
The majority of FTN’s first customers weren’t even in the market for a two-wheeler until they saw the Streetdog. With the first deliveries rolling out, the response has been incredible and 1000’s of kms have already been ridden by customers in place of petrol powered commutes.
Certifications
FTN has co-developed a battery in partnership with a global battery manufacturer that has been certified for international distribution. A third party design review for EU/AU vehicle certification has been completed.
Established Supply Chain
FTN’s strong supplier relationships and future order commitments have allowed second production run components to be ordered on time, and round one cost reductions to be realised through reduced component and shipping costs. This has put FTN on track to achieve target margins by year end.
The timing is right
We’re at the intersection of two massive growth trends: electrification and micro-mobility. The EV revolution has only just begun. It is an industry that will continue to grow as countries worldwide push to reduce emissions. It is estimated that half of the US$3 trillion automotive industry will be electrified by 2035. And more specifically, the global electric two-wheel market is expected to grow from US$50 billion in 2022 to US$90 billion by 2028.
A world class team
With an exciting product made in New Zealand's creative capital, we've attracted an incredibly talented team with the ability to compete globally. Having full control over our design and production allows us to innovate rapidly and push quality expectations, with a direct link from design to build to customer.
A world class product
We’re bringing a fresh, design-driven approach to motorcycle development to create the most intuitive and user friendly product on the market. The Streetdog seamlessly integrates innovations like electronic locking compartments, a touchscreen, and an alarm-activated wheel lock. It has a range of 80km, 30L of secure storage and can be ridden on a car licence to be accessible to everyone.
We’re ready for growth
Our investment raised to date has been driven by our earliest supporters, who have been with us since our first raise in 2021. We’ve allocated those funds towards the recruitment of industry experts, R&D and production setup. With motorcycle deliveries now underway and a global supply chain in place, investment from this round will fund manufacturing process upgrades as we gear up for our next fully subscribed production run and our market entry into Australia. Our target is to scale our annual production capability to 700+ bikes for local and Australian deliveries in 2024.
